1 month old!

Karra has hit her one month mark. She is officially a month old and I can't believe it. I have survived a month of being a mom and sleep deprivation. Here is a recap of Karras first month. She is starting to see a ton better and follows me with her eyes when i leave the room. When she wakes up in the morning and gets a diaper change she is the happiest she will be all day. She is full of smiles. We bought her a gym with toys that hang above her and she is loves laying there. She hasn't quite grasped the fact that you can hit the toys but she loves the lights that are above her. She is finally starting to get on a schedule at least for eating....sleeping is a whole other story. She doesn't let mom lay her down if i do about 10 mintues later she wakes up crying. Hopefully that will change soon but at least we are making progress in the eating stage.

Scott is loving being a daddy he gets home from work and just wants to snuggle her and play with her. It is the cutest thing he is such a good dad. He even made up a little song for her and when he sings it to her she just lays there and smiles like crazy..... if i sing it i don't get the same reaction i just get a puzzled stare. I will try to post some pictures or videos soon. I do have one picture from Christmas day we took at grammie and papas house. From that picture to now she looks so different she has a double chin now and is starting to get some fat rolls.....it is so cute!

OUR CHRISTMAS PRESENT!

On December 19th at 4:28 pm we welcomed a brand new baby girl into our family. She weighed 6 lbs 6 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long. We named her Karra Anne Neilson. She is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. Since everyone has been asking me how delivery went I will give you a quick over view.
On saturday morning at 7:30 am my water broke and we went to the hospital. When i got there I was not contracting so they started me on pitocin. I started contracting around 11:00 am and got my epidural around 1:30 pm. After the epidural things were great, even before the epidural the conractions were not as bad as I expected them to be. Once I got the epidural i started dilating pretty quickly and I was a 10 and ready to push by 4 pm. I pushed through 3 contractions and she was born around 4:28pm. It was the biggest miracle Scott and I had ever seen let alone participate in. Karra was a beautiful healthy girl that we have been smitten with since she came into our lives.
Karra has been awesome so far. Even thought things can always change right now she is such a good sleeper, eating is still something we are both getting used to, however that will come with time. She has her daddy's nose and ears and a long face like here daddy. She has her mommys eyes, cheeks, and lips at least from what we can tell for now. Things can always change though. I am not going to bore you anymore I will now post some pictures of my beautiful baby girl!

Our beautiful yet tired family.

She looks so much like me when I was a baby it is crazy

She loves having her hands by her face. She has discovered she can put them in her mouth so the onsies that cover her hands have been amazing!

She is so tiny.

She is the best Christmas present we could have been given!

Baby Karra the day she was born. The nurses put the cute red and green bows in her hair because she is a christmas baby. I loved that they did that and she looked so cute!
